Back at it again is GU favorite, Phil Sebastien, with a rather unique set of visuals this time around. With Hip Hop being a culture that revolves around digging for samples, it comes to us as a surprise to not see as many people digging for rare or eclectic visuals sampled from vintage films for music videos, complimenting the vintage feel of the record itself. Well, Phil Sebastien, one of the more cunning wordsmiths out right now, successfully delivers us this multiplex of rare vintage visuals(sampled from the 1973 Mexican-American film “La Montaña Sagrada”) accompanied by an array of astute bars over a throwback EL-P beat from Company Flow’s Little Johnny From The Hospital project. Yet again, Phil assures us that the New Age Order is nothing to take lightly. Check out some of their previous releases HERE.
“Access A3C” is a new series that was recorded live at A3C Festival 2013 in which Florida-based Varras Tower and Kevin Nottingham along with various guest hosts interview a variety of notable figures in Hip Hop today, including DJ Premier, RA The Rugged Man, and Talib Kweli, and more. For their debut episode, the crew(including Maurice Garland) interviews INTERNETS own Dallas Penn, Reggie Ossé, and Premium Pete of The Combat Jack Show.
It is fairly understood that LA producer/emcee EXILE knows what he’s doing when it comes to finding talent(i.e. Miguel, Aloe Blacc, Blu, Co$$, etc). With that said, the most recently added member of the Dirty Science crew, Denmark Vessey, is no exception. Below is the latest video offering, “Gasoline”, from his recently released mixtape: Don’t Drink The Kool Aid. If you like what you hear, then you should be aware that his ALBUM Cult Classic drops 11/12/13.
The $outhern Giant is back! South Florida’s very own, Glocky Davis drops the first visuals off his upcoming project, “PLAYER” dropping later this month. “Knock On Wood” is something that will be played in high volumes in the whip as this track definitely falls under the category as some real Miami heat! The production was handled by The ODD Won who produced the other 9 tracks on the project. Make sure to stay on the lookout for PLAYER as South Florida Hip-Hop is on the rise and Glock is def in the forefront of upcoming artists to lookout for.
